Efforts to reform Canada’s health care systems have been hampered in large part by federal-provincial squabbling. In our latest piece, we (the Queen’s School of Policy Studies Health Policy Council) argue that the federal government should focus on what is squarely in their wheelhouse: the social determinants of health.

Early in 2020, we will welcome to Queen’s Sir Michael Marmot, a friend and colleague who has championed the SDoH for many years in the UK. He will present a cogent and compelling case for strategic investment in reducing socioeconomic disparities as a way to improve health.
